Google: Behind the Screen
Google: Behind the Screen
As I said before, there have been a few changes going around at Google, changes that could impact ANYONE… whether you use Adsense, Adwords, Gmail, Google Earth, Google Book Search, Google Calendar, or any of their services.
I use Google a LOT! And, I use a LOT of their services, probably like many of you. But as an individual, a business owner, an entrepreneur - I’m not a fan of LARGE monopoly type businesses, of ANY type. Anyway…
Something that has happened recently is, Google is now looking at advertisers landing pages, and deciding whether or not the “user experience” is worthy of a visitor.
So, if you happen to have a subscription form on that landing page and you’re trying to get newsletter signups, whether it be a “squeeze page” technique or just a content page that’s asking for subscribers, your ad listing or cost per click ‘COULD’ be affected.
Now, I’m not saying that I’m going to stop using Google, or their services… nor should you. I just think that we should ‘THINK’ more sometimes before we hand over the keys to the kingdom to anyone… big business or government.
I do LOVE the Internet, and this is a very good example why…
I have just finished watching a video documentary on Google. The video is only about 46 minutes 58 seconds long, AND it’s VERY GOOD, but this could have very easily been a one an a half to two hour documentary if it were on TV.

You will, or at least you should, want to watch it.
Grab a pen and paper because there’s lots of little things you will learn about Google, how they view things, and where they are headed with their view of how the Internet should be (which may not match up with what you would like it to be)… and you’ll learn exactly what business Google is really in.

Leave me your comments, I’m curious what you think, after you have watched the video.

Google is like a gargantuan monster that gobbled us up. Then it realized that it got an indigestion and spitted us back out. It’s unbelievable that so much marketing dollars coming us from little guys that propelled Google Adwords to the current height of its glory. As a payback, Google haunts us with this recent overflawed algorithm change that destroyed the prospects and incomes of so many successful internet marketers. I already looked beyond Google and now experimenting with other brand of PPC or other methods of internet marketing. Even if we obey Google’s rule change which we have to create more relevant webpages, don’t be confident that Google will do something unquestionable to pull the rug under us.

That was a great video to watch. Everyone who is serious about their online income should invest the 45 mintes to watching this. It does give great insight as to what Google ‘values’ and how to get better search engine rankings. And on the other hand, this video caused me to pause and question whether I want them to see and save every email I’ve written and received in gmail.com.
